SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!

financial planning investing

When it comes to being a financial winner, slow and steady really does win the race! Small step after small step will help you achieve big results. In our minds, this is the only pathway that will ensure you succeed financially.

It seems a lifetime ago we started banging on about the importance for members in tackling what were soon to be rising interest rates. And now we are pleased to see we are now coming over the other side of that hill! And regardless of whether interest rates keep going down, stay put, or maybe even go up again, one thing is certain...

You need to keep being the tortoise and slowly and steadily keep taking positive financial steps forward. We would like to think that if you and your financial house can combat the cost of living pressures over the past couple of years, then you're in a very good position to go on and achieve financial success and your version of financial freedom.

So, regardless of what interest rates do next, we want you to stay focused on your financial game plan and what you can control.

Via Money in Minutes and our Wages to Wealth program, you have access to a plethora of guidance and actions that you can take to stay in control of your financial journey.

In case you need a quick refresher to take the next positive financial step, here's a quick overview:
• earn an income (tick)
• save some of your income (there are numerous strategies we've outlined to save money)
• ensure you have now reviewed and updated your mortgage or other loans (if you have such)
• invest your savings (ensure your Rainy Day fund is your first priority)
• once your Rainy Day fund is topped up, assess investing inside and outside super
• keep taking the above actions for as long a time as you need to (to achieve your financial goals)
• remember to protect your income along the way so you virtually guarantee success (have insurance)
• keep reminding yourself of the purpose for the wealth you’re building (then it’s exciting!)
• achieve purpose/s
• rinse and repeat with your new purpose (stay disciplined)

Financial winners are really good at turning the above items into simple small steps, and then actioning each step over and over again for as long as they need to. Remember, discipline equals freedom!

Congratulations to those of you who have managed to successfully combat the recent cost of living pressures thrown at us all. Please keep up the great work and stay focused.
